Shop Local & Support Girl Scout Entrepreneurs at a New Location This Weekend!
Albuquerque, NM (December 6, 2024) – The 4th Annual Girl Scout Holiday Entrepreneur Craft Fair is moving to a new location this year! Join us on Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Berna Facio Professional Development Center located at 3315 Louisiana Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110.
This festive event offers a unique opportunity to support local Girl Scouts and their entrepreneurial endeavors while finding one-of-a-kind gifts for the upcoming holiday season.
Troop 10655 from Albuquerque’s NE Heights will be holding a toy drive at the craft fair in support of their Girl Scout Bronze Award project.
“Not only do our Girl Scouts get to showcase their creative talents, but they also get to practice entrepreneurial skills while earning money for their goals,” said Allie Burnquist, Girl Scouts of New Mexico Trails Director of Girl Experience. “These goals range from troop trips to Disneyland and Europe to local community service projects. One troop has even committed to use their earnings to purchase and donate food to Roadrunner Food Bank for holiday meals."
Attendees can expect a wide range of handcrafted items, including jewelry, home decor, baked goods, and more.
“We hope people will stop by the craft fair to support the girls, show them their hard work is valued, their goals are attainable, and there is a place for them in business,” said Burnquist. “While nearly 80% of women business owners are Girl Scout alums, there is still a disparity between women and men business owners. Through programs like the craft fair, we help build the confidence of these young women while providing them with skills to fulfill their entrepreneurial dreams.”
The event is free and open to the public. All are invited to bring their friends and family to enjoy holiday crafts, delicious treats, and the spirit of community.
