Showing appreciation for volunteers is a powerful Girl Scout tradition. After all, our volunteers are amazing. Volunteers are key to our mission of building girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place!
Formal adult awards are offered by GSUSA and Girl Scouts of New Mexico Trails (GSNMT) to recognize exemplary service of adult Girl Scouts and community partners who go above and beyond the expectations of an individual’s position. Volunteers, girl members, and their families may nominate someone for an award. New Mexico Trails’ formal adult awards are intended to recognize exemplary service above and beyond what is expected for the individual’s volunteer role. Formal awards should be used to honor specific service rather than longevity. Formal awards are intended to be only one part of a comprehensive recognition plan, including informal recognition of volunteers.
