Support the mission and goals of Girl Scouts and the Girl Scout Leadership Experience
Must be 18 years old and successfully complete a Girl Scouts of New Mexico Trails (GSNMT) Application/Background Check
Willingness to lead using the principles taught in the Girl Scout Promise and Law
Basic understanding of the Girl Scout program
Exhibit ability to work with both girls and adults in an organized manner
Good interpersonal skills with both girls and adults
Demonstrate willingness to devote sufficient time and/or delegation to fulfill the responsibilities of the job
Well organized and thorough record keeping
Regular access to all communicaitons
Attend all necessary trainings and fulfill all requirements of the positions within the first 30 days of appointment and maintain recurring training.
Remain informed about and comply with the most current policies, procedures, and guidelines of GSNMT and GSUSA, conducting all troop activities as defined in Volunteer Essentials and Safety Activity Checkpoints.
Acquire a public meeting space that is convenient for your troop. Seek assistance from your Regional Manager if final reservations need to be made by a council staff person.
In pertnership with your Troop Treasurer, keep accurate financial records for the troop, open a bank account when your troop acquires the minimum $50, have your finances available for all troop guardians to review upon request, do not track any girl's individual earnings within a troop account, turn in your monthly bank statement copies, and complete your Year End Activity Report (YEAR) by the deadline. The troop bank account should be governed by the girls and overseen by two non-related, registered, and background checked volunteers; one who receives statements , and the other who handles the checkbook/debit card.
Use "netiquette" when representing Girl Scouts in the use of the internet, email, social media, and personal communication devices. Slander and bullying is not tolerated.
Ensure a troop volunteer is represented at each Service Unit Leader Meeting.
