Girl Scouts of New Mexico Trails is asking the New Mexico Legislature for funding to purchase two 12-passenger vans to be used as mobile learning labs in STEM and Outdoor Education. With these vans, GSNMT will be able to bring hands-on STEM and Outdoor activities to Girl Scouts in rural and underserved communities, as well as transport Girl Scouts to activities around the council.
We are asking current Girl Scouts to help GSNMT with this request by hand-writing letters to members of the legislature explaining why this is important. Not only will the letters help GSNMT with our request, but they can be used as an activity towards earning the Democracy Badge for each program level!
Letters can be dropped off at the ABQ Service Center during business hours or scanned (cell phone picture okay) and emailed to [email protected]. The deadline for letters to be submitted is February 7, 2024.
